The Hexagonal Birthing Pool

This pool has been used by Charlotte Church and has featured in both BBC2's 'Roman Empire' (episode 1) and ITV's 'William and Mary'.

The hexagonal pool is probably the best birthing pool available, often described by midwives and mothers as ‘the most attractive pool I’ve ever seen.’ It's an attractive and roomy pool offering more than ample room for two people to move about easily to adopt the most comfortable positions for relaxation, labour and birth. Its wooden panels give it a natural look together with the blue liner, a very inviting scene of peace and tranquillity, you won’t be able to wait to enter the deep, warm water and ease gently into labour.

The size of the pool makes it the ideal choice for family relaxation times both before and after the birth, making it a very popular choice for those giving birth at home.

Technical Details:
The hexagonal pool takes only 10-15 minutes to assemble.  Filling time will depend on your water supply.  Approx 2 hrs.

A really generously designed pool, the folding rectangular pool takes only 5 minutes to assemble. Simply open out the pool and place on the base, arrange the curtains and padding pieces and your ready to fill!

The folding rectangular is the ideal choice if you are taking the pool into hospital with you, or if you have reason to expect a fast labour.

Although this pool holds only half the water of the hexagonal pool, there is ample room for two people. The shape of this pool makes it very easy to use the sides of the pool to push against and ease yourself into different positions.

The rectangular pool is less expensive than the hexagonal pool to hire, and it is more likely that your domestic hot water supply will provide enough hot water to fill the pool to the right temperature fairly quickly. This then, is the ideal pool for you if you want the most economical option and/or if space is limited.

These pools are designed for domestic use, the weight of the hexagonal pool when full is roughly equivalent to 10-12 adults standing in that area. We have never had a problem with a pool going through the floor! If you are at all concerned about your floor, please do contact us for further advice.

Heaters

Heaters can be hired out to maintain the temperature of the pool.  This allows for the pool to be ready before the onset of labour as you never know how eager that baby is to come out and the last thing we want our customers to be is disappointed because they couldn’t get the pool filled in time!
